Lef Proiect is a Romanian architecture office, founded by arch. Cristian Lefter in 1999, after previously being one of the founding partners of one of the first private design companies established after the revolution.
Since the beginning in 1999, our company sought to impose the quality of design and construction and soon became one of the most requested design companies in Romania.
This resulted in rapid growth, during which we realized a comprehensive portfolio of projects with a various complexity, both for private and public investments. Being in business for more than 15 years, our portfolio now includes a wide range of works varying form public buildings, commercial and retail spaces, offices, healthcare buildings, large residential developments and hotels to urban master plans and landscape architecture. Our team has successfully finalized more than 100 projects all over Romania, projects that include Bacau County Hospital, Vulcan Value Center and Mega Mall Bucharest, Modernization of British Council Building, Hotel Perla and Nemira Slanic Moldova, BancPost and Romtelecom Headquarters Bacau, more than 200 housing units for the National Housing Agency, master plan and City Center modernization of the town of Roman.
With more than a decade of experience, today we can provide our clients with a comprehensive knowledge of all building aspects including recommendations about site purchasing and obtaining permits, complete design process from sketch to detailed project, construction management and also marketing of the building.
Our aim is to work with original concepts in order to create a valuable and sustainable building designs, deeply anchored in the urban context of the city. Our projects successfully combine the client’s needs with sustainable solutions, avoiding to use a certain predetermined style. Our priority is to offer to our beneficiaries as well as to the future users of the buildings that we design, the best results by using integrated design which combines aesthetics with functional needs.

Our office provides all design services needed for construction from technical due diligence regarding site or building acquisition, conceptual designs and permit documentation to tender projects, detailed execution documentation and construction site supervision.

Story
1991 • 1999 | EARLY 90s
The basis of our team was established in the early 90s when Lef Proiect founder architect Cristian Lefter together with a multidisciplinary team created one of the first modern design companies in Romania. During this period, while designing buildings like the Romtelecom Headquarters in Bacau or the Natural Science Museum, a lot of the technical expertise and principles of designing with quality in mind were developed. These principles and experience has then continued under the new name of Lef Proiect.
1999 • 2008 | INCEPTION & GROWTH
In 1999 after almost a decade of experience, an important part of the previous team decided to join the newly founded Lef Proiect. In the early 2000, Lef Proiect, being a newly founded company, aimed to establish the new name as a brand standing for quality and innovation in design, and has done this by successfully finalizing a number of important projects like BancPost Headquarters, Social Services Headquarters or the City Master Plan for Roman.
2009 | BUCHAREST OFFICE
In 2009, Lef Proiect opened its Bucharest Office as part of a planned expansion so that it could work more directly with central authorities and Bucharest based clients.
2010 • 2019 | RECENT FOCUS
In recent years the our company has focused on integrating the latest design and construction technologies while diversifying the services that we can provide for our clients, going beyond building design to provide comprehensive knowledge off all building aspects. As attested by the series of design competitions that Lef Proiect has won, our focus remains on bettering the quality of our designs and to provide the best services for our clients. This philosophy of constantly improving our skills and services has prompted our company to be a part of some of the largest development projects in the country, projects like the Mega Mall Project in Bucharest, Modernization of the City Center of Roman or the Modernization of the County Hospital in Bacau.
